Firstly, I reeeeeeallllly must say thank you for all your comments recently. I am not ignoring you all, I really value your comments but I have been very busy doing boring sorting, as you know, and I have a deadline of a car boot sale on Sunday that I have to meet and I want to get EVERYTHING that needs to go from the house ready. So also, apologies in advance, it will now rain on Sunday as I want to do a car boot sale!
Jasper started his new school on Monday and then promptly turned his little tickly cough in to a bark so loud at night time that it keeps everyone awake. So he has been off school for two days in order to knock the little bugger of a virus on the head. He has been watching TV and doing puzzles whilst camping out in the sitting room in this teepee!
I thought I would post this little idea. As I have two girls we get to give a lot of girl presents. I have been opting for this as it seems to work very well. I buy off ebay some knitted cakes - you can make - I can't I am a right wit nit when it comes to knitting (yes so bad I am a wit nit - not nit wit)! I add some thrifted china plates and cups, a purse with some money in it, print out a price list and put in a thrifted photo frame. I also try to include a teapot, sugar tongs and teaspoons too. I love in this computer age that all children still love role play. Eh hemmmm - even the adults like to play tea shops/tea parties too!
Something I thrifted recently were ten of these love bird dishes. There is a story behind them. A long time ago I went to a lovely friend's house for dinner. It was just her and me so we ate in her kitchen. She always lays the table beautifully. During the evening I accidentally lifted the flap of her kitchen table up with my leg slightly and my side of the table collapsed down. Everything on my side just crashed on to the floor. Fortunately, the only thing that broke was a plate with this pattern on. What a nightmare though! A vintage plate that I couldn't just go out and replace.
At a car boot sale though I found several replacement plates and more recently found these ten dishes for a grand total of £2.00. I think in karma terms I have finally repaid that debt.
Boo hoo - no mosaic class today due to poorly Jasper. I hope I get to do something creative this week !!!!
See you all soon if the cardboard boxes of junk don't get me in the mean time!
